I am moving my fireplace insert pellet stove from a fireplace to a regular chimney. I bought pipe to do it, but noticed the pipe says direction of flow on it. I have to go from 4 inch to 3 inch right at the stove, and they dont make a reducer (probably dont want you reducing size, might consider it a restriction) So the increaser will work if I put it on backwards, then I have to put the rest of the 3" pipe on backwards also. Except for the fitment of each pipe going inside the next one, I can't see any reason why the pipe won't work backward. I can put the stovepipe sealer on each joint to keep it from leaking. And I couldn't find any 4" pipe to do it right, apparently pellet stoves are all 3 " except mine. At the chimney there is just a rough hole punched through with a homemade metal block off plate. Instead of buying a thimble I was going to just cut a 3" hole for the pipe in the metal plate, then inside the chimney run a short piece of pipe to the metal stove pipe I found hanging inside the flue. I know this is probably not the ideal way to do this, but as long as I get the stove exhaust to go up the chimney without leaking co2 into the house it should be ok, right? Let me know if my plan is all wrong. ___________________________________________________ professional seo company| professional seo
