What is your standard? Do you keep the Proboard's sensored words in place, change them, remove them? Does it depend on the situation? I personally keep most of the censored words list intact, there are some words that I might change what the result is, but I leave the original words. I think that words like crap, d**n, are okay, but anything "hardcore" is too much. The only place I'm a little more lenient is if I have an RPG section, and then members are allowed to use the words every once and a while, in context only. Keep in mind that these standards apply for this discussion.

You can set it to only censor whole words so it wouldn't do that. First thing I did with my forum is take out the censored word list. I use it for my members signatures actually. I allow cursing in context and only in RPG. Besides, most of the cursing that occurs (which almost never does) are British curse words like 'bloody' so they aren't even censored...

Yeah, it's that thing that rambles on about if you set it to change 'hi' to 'hello', then one setting changes high to hellogh, and the other one doesn't

I dont allow the most obvious swearing on my forum But the light swearing like bloody and hell and crap etc are allowed as long as they are not directed to other members etc I think swearing is only used when the member has little knowledge of the English Vocabulary or they use it to explain an action eg: crap i lost my phone etc

I agree with your Viper. I don't allow swearing in my OOC sections. Like I said above... I allow light swearing in RP. When you're role playing being aged 11-18 your fairly likely to swear once in a while, I mean how many of us did NOT swear at all in school?

I would be a hypocrite if I limited swearing on my forum...because I tend to let words slip a lot...I'm pretty good about not doing it on people's sites where they do not allow it, but being censored makes me feel strange because I constantly have to fix what I write. I made it clear to my members that I do NOT want them saying stuff like F this F that fx8 in every sentence, but I'm very easy going about it.

I don't mind swear words they are fifteen to twenty more words in the English language. I just learn to deal with it. Well, unless they are cussing like a sailor, then, I'll speak up and tell them perhaps using nonswear words might be more effective and that they can get the message across faster and more efficiently.
I try not to sensor too much speach, though.

but if its "f**k" or "s**t" That's when I start handing out "yellow cards"

Pretty much for me, I don't like it and avoid using it at all cause. That's just my opinion. On my board, I do state that I personally don't like using it and show that my characters won't swear as well (since that's my personal standard that I developed at a young age wither I'm admin a form or just a regular member). However, I do state that if they can show moderation and some sort of control, then they are allowed (as long as they don't start swearing like a sailor, and doing that every time they post). Plus I don't allow certain extreme words and the 'gd' word anywhere on the site (though at least a potential member complain to me about that).
