I had no idea where to put this. lol - do I go to code support? Well I know how the code works and how to edit it... do I go to forum help? Well I'm not have a problem except with the tables... so why not advice? Well - I'll stop prattling and get to the point of my asking for advice. My Forum: SectumsempraDon't mind the dust, after my codes died (one of my mods was helping me out and a fatal error occurred I'm updating them to make it more efficient. I'm also updating the categories/boards also to make it more efficient and easier to use. So... yeah. It will be longer and not so stupid looking. What I need help with is the tables! I want them to be more efficient and easier to navigate and less overbearing. What are you opinions? What order should they be in? Where should they be? I've considered moving the ads above the welcome table and starting the side table there but would it just move the clutter up? I don't like the forum being lopsided so I do want the side tables on BOTH side. Currently the idea was the non-RP things on the right side with the RP stuff on the left side. The middle table was the original table and it is suppose to list where we are in the RP and what's going on. So what do you think? I know it looks kind of crappy right now and I could REALLY use some outsider opinions!

Personally, I'm a left side table girl, but if you want both, then more power to ya. Regardless, I like everything to be streamlined with the ads; since you have so much, that won't be entirely possible, but I suggest making your tables as narrow as possible, and then reducing the width of your boards so that there is as much a border around the forum as possible.
I would eliminate the top table, as three is a bit much for me. I would incorporate that information into a side table. For the Admin/mod note in the bottom right, I would actually do the opposite and put it at the very top of the forum, in a temporary center table, and have the side tables inline with the top of the first category.
Other than that, the trick is simply trimming out what isn't necessary. Since you don't have affiliates, and no code, it isn't necessary to have that table yet. Same with the OTM's.
For the house points, the totals are more than enough; you might include a link at the bottom of that table to a thread where the specifics are posted.
Also, less is more with marquees. Having stuff scrolling all over the place looks rather messy.

I know the middle table would have to go. lol. I've been working on the affiliate table. I just finished throwing together the rough draft of the new banner and was getting started on the affiliates.
There is no thread with the specifics. When points are given or taken I get a PM that says what thread and how much then I put it into the house point totals. The list there is the only concise listing. I could take out the scroll of mods and I suppose the site staff. Originally it was going to be three times it's length which is why I set it to scroll but my co-admin and I decided against it.
The OTM's are being assigned tonight. It I wasn't going to do it until next month I wouldn't have put it in at all. I know I need to put them one over the other since I've already seen that being side by side causes the left side to narrow.

For the house points, perhaps a very slow marquee (scrollamount 1 perhaps) in a new row under the images might be a cleaner way to display the information.

I think I have it on slowest marque ... but if I can get it to go slower that would be better.

It's hard to tell because of the hack manager, so I can't see the code.

Well I lost the battle. lol - all the tables got moved to the left hand side. Most of my members have wide-screen monitors but my husband did remind me that those who don't would see a very weird layout so the right side got deleted.

I tend to like that layout better myself.

I hate it since it feels unbalanced to me and look SO weird on my screen... but I have a wide screen and I admit before it looked cluttered but now it looks kind of bare. But on the desktop it looks perfect... *sigh* Oh well. Thanks for your help!
