I know it's not something everyone wants to think about, but what would you like on it? Personally, I'd like to go down legend Spike MIlligan's route... Dúirt mé leat go raibh mé breoite Which translates as "I told you I was ill"!!! KtF Joe ;D

I don't want to be buried.
I want it to be burned for personal reasons. Doubt it will happen, though.
If I have to have a gravestone I want "Die Eier Von Satan" on it.

Triad... I've talked to my family about this and I've told everyone I want to be cremated too because I can't stand the thought of bugs and worms making food of me. Even if I'm dead and so I wont feel or know about it. I convinced my mum and my husband to want to be cremated too. lol.

For me it's just because I like the thought of being "free" and not stuck in the ground. I know it doesn't matter since I will no longer have the ability to think, but I just like it that way more. I wouldn't mind having my body given up for doctors to study, or for donor organs as well. Just don't bury me.

So I guess that wasn't the brake?

I wrote serious epitaphs for an English class when I was a moody teenager. These are a little shorter and cheaper to carve.

Sadly, there's a lot more where those came from, which doesn't speak well for my sense of humor... or social life.

I used to be scared of death but I've had so many close calls now that it is kind of a joke to me - like it appears to be to Celeste. That kind of humor can be great - but only with the right people. If you're suicidal and doing that then it's kind of scary (had friends who did that) but if you're just messing around it's fun. I also like your </living> one. Great for a coder right?

Thought provoking! Despite my flippancy above, I don't know that death is truly a joke for me. Sometimes you need to laugh to be able to cope with the seriousness of something. Every gravestone is a sign of a life lived, however long, and ended. People dreamed, struggled, celebrated, warred, and grieved. After a lifetime, all that is left is the monument. When I was in high school, we studied 'Spoon River Anthology' and 'Our Town', both which spent a lot of time in town cemeteries, contemplating the inhabitants' lives. For homework, we had to write our own epitaph. Mine was long, dark, and somber -- somewhat like my teenage years, as a matter of fact! In genealogy I'd come across humorous gravestones. After all the sad, serious and religious stones, they were a breath of fresh air. I just thought I'd give it a try. And yes, the "</living>" is one especially for this forum. Most admins deal with coding on one level or another and I thought you'd enjoy it.
