Since it is April first as I type this. It appears that my computer was not affected.. anywho.. I just made sure that my stuff was up to date.. and ran tests both before and after midnight.

I didn't as I actually hadn't heard about the worm until after April 1st. I'm fairly sure my computer hasn't been infected, but I'm running my virus software just to be safe (I run checks periodically anyway, incase anything has slipped in). Microsoft has also made a 'malicious software' scanner available to search for the conficker worm, which I'm taking advantage of (even though the bugger takes forever to scan).

I didn't hear anything about it so I've done jack all. I have a scanner that runs but it's out of date - by a month - so it wont stop anything it hadn't updated for before it crashed. I'll get a new one soon.

Or maybe they did find it and stopped it - or maybe they made it up for publicity?

I think that it could very well have been a media ploy to go against pc's. Who knows...although I haven't heard of anyone who actually has been infected by the worm yet, so it must have either been the ploy or overhyping a worm that just wasn't as bad as they originally thought.
